Thanks to the “Friends of Miller Park” who came out this morning to wack and remove weeds and beautify the Miller Nature Park. We used good old-fashioned elbow grease instead of harsh chemicals. Nearly all the Burdock and Canadian Thistle were eliminated, as well as patches of Buttercup and the weed-wackers took out many foxtails along the pathway trails. It was a bluebird day with mild temps. Big thanks to Barbara Ballingham and her husband Richard, from Wasatch Hollow — who supervised our efforts.
Please reserve Saturday, July 9 around 8 a.m. for our second volunteer opportunity — spreading crushed rock to improve the trail surface. Josh Stewart, YNC secretary, is coordinating that project: jms.ut.us@gmail.com or 801-664-4003.
