The meeting was held Aug. 15 at Anderson-Foothill Library and via Zoom. Watch the video here and read summaries below.
Robin Carbaugh and Scott Hagen from the Bylaws Committee presented a preliminary draft proposal of the new YNC bylaw document. Comments from Yalecrest residents at the meeting are being processed. The Committee will continue to seek additional input from residents and former YNC leaders and plans to present another report before the end of the year.
Hannah Barton, the Mayor’s community liaison, reported on several events, opportunities and city news updates including homelessness, the new WaterMaps app. She also presented items on behalf of City Councilman Dan Dugan who was attending a Council meeting.
SLCPD Det. Sam Fallows gave a monthly incident report for July. There were 6 Part 1 and Part 2 crimes in Yalecrest in July including 2 larceny burglaries. These crimes are the most serious that the city keeps track of. He also reported there has been an increase in suspicious activity in the neighborhood — prowlers trying to open car doors or checking doors on homes. There was an intense graffiti attack in Miller Park over multiple days recently and the police considered placing a camera in the park. When the activity ceased, the camera was reassigned elsewhere.
YNC Chair Jan Hemming gave an annual report on YNC initiatives and events for 2022-23. Read it here.
